Settlers of Catan is a multiplayer board game designed by Klaus Teuber. It is named after the fictional island of Catan in the game. The game has been published in 30 languages and sold more than 22 million copies.

The game is played with three to four players, each of whom control a settlement on the island of Catan. The objective of the game is to earn 10 victory points by collecting resources, building settlements and roads, and so on.

Players earn victory points by:

• Building settlements (1 point)
• Building cities (2 points)
• Longest road (2 points)
• Largest army (2 points)

The game is played on a board with hexagonal tiles. Each tile represents a different resource: wheat, wood, sheep, brick, or stone. Players earn these resources by rolling dice. The higher the number rolled, the more resources the player earns.

Players can trade resources with each other. They can also trade resources with the bank. The bank is represented by a deck of cards. These cards represent the resources that are available on the island.

Players can use their resources to build settlements and roads. Settlements are worth one point, and roads are worth one point. Cities are worth two points. Players can also build walls, which are worth one point.

Players can also buy development cards. These cards can be used to get resources, build roads, or get other benefits. Development cards are bought with resources.

The game ends when one player has 10 victory points. The player with the most victory points is the winner.
