The gallerist game

The Gallerist is a board game for one to four players, designed by Vital Lacerda and published in 2015 by Eagle-Gryphon Games. The game simulates the business of running an art gallery. Players take on the role of gallerists, buying and selling art, discovering and cultivating artists, and putting on exhibitions in their galleries to score the most prestige points. The game is played over the course of three rounds, with each round representing one year. At the end of the third round, the player with the most prestige points is the winner.

Players start the game with a certain amount of money, which they use to buy art, invest in artists, and build their galleries. They can also take out loans to increase their cash flow. Each turn, players can take one of four actions: buy art, invest in artists, exhibit art, or loan money. Players can also choose to do nothing on their turn.

When buying art, players can either buy from the market or from other players. The market has a selection of six different pieces of art, which are replenished at the end of each turn. Players can also choose to buy art from other players, but they must pay the other player's asking price. If they cannot afford the asking price, they can take out a loan to cover the cost.
